Opportunities to Serve:
Throughout the fall and spring semesters, the Leadership and Service Council hosts service days to connect UAB students with volunteer organizations in the Birmingham community.
September Service Madness: Occurring each September, September Service Madness is a student-led day of service. This day begins students’ commitments to service during the semester. September 6, 2014
Into the Streets Day of Service: Into the Streets occurs in March and November, and it is a day of service in which students, faculty, and administrators from the UAB campus participate in a variety of community service projects in the Birmingham area. October 25, 2014 and March 7, 2015
MLK Day of Service: MLK Day of Service occurs on MLK Day in January. Students from UAB, Miles College, and Lawson State Community College will unite for this day of service. January 19, 2015
Monthly Service: One Saturday each month during the fall and spring semesters there is a day of service in which students can sign up to participate. October 4, 2014, February 7, 2015, April 11, 2015

Social Change Awareness Opportunities:
The Leadership and Service Council provides opportunities for students to learn more about current issues and to learn how to create change in the community. Various awareness weeks and events are held throughout the year.
